The Marine Plastic Recovery Vessel is the largest open ocean clean-up. After 48 days in the ocean, this vessel removed more than 103 tons of nets and plastics from the Great Pacific Garbage Patch.
The Ocean Voyages Institute’s vessel uses GPS locators to find the most polluted areas in the sea. The crew recovers the litter and place them in bags, so they can be recycled appropriately when the voyage is over.
